NATALIE ON DANCING WITH THE STARS
In 2004 Natalie auditioned for 'Dancing With The Stars', and became one of the first female professional ballroom dancers to be a part of the highest rating entertainment show in the history of Australian Television.
Natalie remembers the day very clearly getting the call from the Channel 7 executive producer to tell her the good news and that she would be dancing with Olympic Sprinter Matt Shirvington.
Natalie embraced her experience on 'Dancing With The Stars' to the full and never let her success go anywhere else but the dance floor. Reaching the quarter finals with Matt Shrivington in her first year Natalie knew she wanted more and knew that she had only scratched the surface.
The following year Natalie's next celebrity dance partner was someone who taught her a lot about herself and how to be the best she can be in all aspects of life, how to treat people with respect make the most out of life. He became her soul mate for life: Rugby League Legend Ian Roberts. In his eyes Natalie could do no wrong, she was his 'angel girl' and still to this day Ian can't believe that Natalie got him to the final. Ian won the hearts of the nation and was by far one of Natalie's most unique and memorable dance partnerships, on which they shared an incredible journey, one that will never be forgotten.
In her third series of the hit Australian show Natalie danced with AFL legend and Carlton Captain Anthony Koutoufides. This turned out to be Natalie's most successful year on the show with a successful ride all the way to the final and becoming a DANCING WITH THE STARS CHAMPION! Natalie and Anthony were very proud and honoured to have held up the Strictly Glitter Ball. The months spent training and dancing with Anthony helped them to develop a perfect working relationship, they both thoroughly enjoyed the process and had fun from beginning to end. Natalie feels that it was this working relationship and their shared sense of fun that provided the winning combination that year.
Just when Natalie felt that her celebrity partners could not get any better the following series paired her up with an even more talented celebrity in the shape of 'Home and Away' star Tim Campbell. Tim combined his natural ability to perform with his knowledge of how to entertain the audience and was really able to connect with Natalie on a professional level. The couple reached the semi-finals of 'Dancing With The Stars' that year.
After flying to the UK for one day to audition for 'Strictly Come Dancing' Natalie was asked to be a part of another series of 'Dancing With The Stars' and she accepted giving her the chance to dance with Danny Green, world champion boxer. Natalie had to relocate to Perth which she absolutely loved... Danny was full of energy and always put his best foot forward dancing his way to the final placing 2nd in the series. Danny said that he had Natalie to thank for helping him become lighter on his feet after 'Dacing With The Stars' and subsequently decided to come back out of retiement as he felt he had so much more to achieve in his profession...
At this point Natalie decided to hang up her dance shoes in Australia for a short while to conquer another country and make the exciting move to 'Strictly Come Dancing' in the UK. For Natalie this became an extremely rewarding and moving career change.
Natalie hasn't looked back since she arrived for her first series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' Partnered with Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle, her first year was exciting and eventful and the couple reached the final placing 2nd to Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan. Despite narrowly missing the chance to lift the Glitter Ball Natalie felt this was a great result for her first year on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Last year Natalie was partneredf up with EastEnders' heart-throb Scott Maslen. Natalie felt extremely blessed to have been partnered with a really fun, energetic and outgoing celebrity and together they had a great chemistry and worked amazingly well as a team.
